Product Details
This set of high quality foldable 3D printed ruins and separate bases allows for all of the layouts in the Chapter Approved (& Pariah Nexus) Tournament Companion to be set out for matched play.
Each of the L shaped pieces can be rotated to be in either a left or right orientation enabling each of the Chapter Approved Tournament Companion layouts to be created exactly as pictured.
The bases are intentionally minimal so that the outline is clearly visible but the mat detail remains visible underneath. This also means that objectives mats (or equivalent) would be setup under the terrain bases and would still be fully visible. Each of the bases have guide ridges to allow the terrain pieces to be lifted and replaced accurately during the battle allowing for easy placement and movement of models.
The set comprises
2 large "C" shaped ruins
2 6x5 medium "L" shaped double story ruins
4 8x4 large "L" shaped double story ruins
8 5x3.5 small "L" shape single story ruins
6 12x6 bases
2 10x5 bases
4 6x4 bases
What sets this apart?
It is very compact and packs away into a very small box.
Foldable design allows for each piece to be left or right handed allowing for accurate creation of the Chapter Approved maps
Simplistic design allows for quick but effective paint jobs. The pictured green/red sample is undercoated and then is only a single triad of army painter airbrush paint. The large flat panels allow for application of templates or transfers
Separate bases and ruins allows for objectives to be placed in such a way that they are not lost under terrain pieces
Lightweight and simplistic design allows for costs to be kept down making this a competitive option for clubs or tournaments.
Customisation And Choices
This set is printed in black. From experience, due to the moving hinges on the models, any other colour might show up if the paint were to chip but black, especially on darker schemes, will be much less visible.
Further Information
For information, the painted set started from a white print and was then followed with a black undercoat (contrasting colours makes it easy to determine coverage/missed spots) before air brushing and applying stencils.
This ingenious set has been designed by The Custom Bit and is sold under commercial licence.
